If you want to vote or comment on any of the movies or would like to use the bookmarking system you need to register as a user. To register you need to complete the registration form. The only required information is your username, a valid email address and your password. You are also required to fill in the Captcha security field. All other fields are optional. Your username and email address needs to be unique to the system and if somebody else has already registered with the same username then you are required to change your username before your registration is complete. Once you have successfully completed the registration form you will automatically be logged in and will be able to immediately use the sites features.

What is Captcha?

CAPTCHA is an acronym for "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart". Captcha is used to increase the level of security, and was developed as a way for computers to ensure that they are dealing with humans in situations where human interaction is essential to security. Activities such as online commerce transactions, search engine submissions, Web polls, Web registrations, free e-mail service registration and other automated services are subject to software programs, or bots, that mimic the behavior of humans in order to skew the results of the automated task or perform malicious activities.

In order to validate your registration you will be presented with a distorted word placed on top of a distorted background. You need to type the word into the text field exactly as you see it in order to validate the registration. The Captcha is case sensitive and you will be required to type uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers or characters such as question marks or hash symbols. Computers have a difficult time decoding the distorted words while humans can easily decipher the text. If you get the Captcha wrong you will be asked to type in a new word until you get it correct.

My user account

Once you have completed the registration you can asses your user account information from your My Account page. At the top of this page you will be able to view your account details or edit your details. The edit section is broken up into three parts: Account settings, Personal information and Work.

On the Account settings page you can change details related to your user account in relation to the website. You can change your email address or your password. You can also enable or disable your personal contact form. To protect the users email addresses they will never be displayed on the site. So if you want other users of the site to email you, you can enable your personal contact form. You can also access other users contact forms from their user account page.

The Personal information and Work sections allows you to give extra information about yourself so that when other users view your account page they can see what country you live in and what your interests are. You are not required to fill in any personal information if you don’t want to. Additionally, only registered users can view other users account pages. This can be done by clicking there username on movie comments.
